WOMEN DEVELOPMENT CELL
Women’s Day is celebrated globally on 8th March every year in honour of their remarkable contribution to our society. The day also commemorates the inspiring role of women around the world to secure women’s rights and build more equitable societies. Our RPSIT is having Women Empowerment cell with the name of Poovaiyar Empowerment associatioN. The cell has been established in order to protect the women staff and students associated with the college from any sorts of injustice or sexual harassment of any nature directly and indirectly.

Functions
The Women Development Cell Committee shall
To create social awareness about the problems of women and in particular regarding gender discrimination.
To develop the self confidence of Women.
To guide about Women Welfare Laws.
To assert the importance of spiritual, economic, social, racial and gender equality.
To highlight the importance of health and hygiene.
To directs Women’s role in the society. To develop multidisciplinary approach for the overall personality development.
To organize seminars, workshops relating to women development.
To prevent sexual harassment and to promote general well-being of female students, teaching and non teaching women staff of the College
Commemorative Days Events and Festivals
The students are encouraged to celebrate the greatness of our nation and its cultural diversity in every opportunity. These celebrations, and awareness programmes ensures that the civic duties of the students is taught to them and they exercise their rights in a proper way without disturbing others. Besides this birth Anniversaries and death anniversaries of great leaders are observed to remind our students of their achievements and contribution to our society. The fundamental rights in our constitution are Right to equality, Right to freedom, Right against exploitation, Right to freedom of religion, Right to cultural and education, Right to constitutional remedies, Right to vote. Students are given awareness about the basic constitutional rights and their rights to use the college campus for acquiring academic knowledge.
