Our college aims to nurture research culture in the college by promoting research in newly emerging technologies and challenging areas of Engineering, Technology, Science & Humanities. The following activities helps in improving the knowledge students and faculty in the emerging areas in their respective field.
Industry Institute Interaction cell: R P Sarathy Institute of Technology has a very active III Cell. Various activities are conducted to bridge the gap between the industry and institute. Students are encouraged to do innovative projects and express their innovative ideas by participating in the events like Hackathon. The institution signs MoUs with various industries for knowledge sharing through technical training, Industrial visit and internships.
Institution’s Innovation Council: Ministry of HRD has established MHRD’s Innovation cell to work closely with our Higher Education Institutions (HEI’s) to encourage the creative energy of our student population to work on new idea and innovation and promote them to create start-ups and Entrepreneurial ventures.
Our institution organizes periodic Workshop / Seminars / Hackathons / Interaction with Entrepreneurs, Professionals and creates a Mentor pool for student innovators. We have received funds for organizing guest lectures and workshops for the benefit of our students
EDC Cell: RPSIT EDC works with a vision to make the college a hub for innovative business ideas and a stepping stone to budding entrepreneurs. This cell has signed MOUs with Salem Productivity Council, ICTACT, CII and Talent Quest for India (TQI) for conducting training programmes, EDII, MSME awareness camps on Entrepreneur development, Soft Skill Development and knowledge sharing with experts. This cell organizes entrepreneurship development programmes like Entrepreneur talk, Business plan contest, Women entrepreneurship awareness camp, Startup EXPO etc. It encourages the students to become entrepreneurs and to start new business ventures.
Every year our students start new ventures, during their course of study. Some of our student startups are NextonTop, Duck stacks Technologies, Sky Alpha Exports, Civilization Builders, (Add few more 2020 startup) etc. Our final year Computer Science and Engineering students have submitted their idea for modernizing terrace farming and it was selected for Pitch Fest 2020 held at Anna University, Chennai.
Centre for Professional Development: The Centre for Professional Development of RPSIT is an enabling platform which provides opportunities for value - addition content through Workshops, Guest Lectures, Seminar, Faculty Development Programme, Symposium, Conferences, and hands on training programmes, interactive sessions and research projects organized with the support of funding agencies. The center assures to provide additional professional knowledge enhancing programmes with equal opportunities to all the students and to generate trained manpower in all areas of science and technology. It strives to support them to carry out their research in pursuit of academic excellence and contributing to the betterment of society. The students and faculty members are continuously encouraged to be members of professional bodies like IEEE, IEI, IESTE, etc to upskill their technical knowledge in their respective field.
The Centre for Professional Development (CPD) cell, organized funded seminars in recent topics. To name a few, a seminar on BioWiTelwas funded by CSIR, a workshop on Special scheme for farmers for installation of solar pumps Grid was funded by ICSSR and a guest lecture on Nanotech - Based Sensor to Car crash Detection was funded by TNSCST.
Concept of the Day: Our college follows a unique process the students are encouraged to present a concept a day to discuss the latest technologies, inventions and applications available in their field of study. This guides them in choosing their area of interest for mini and major project.
Mini Project: Students are encouraged to work on two mini projects each year during their course of study. This experience helps them to gain relevant exposure in the industry in which the students are interested and needed mind setup to take up good quality projects in the final year, which would offer solutions to the industry and the social problems and enhance the quality of living
National Level Symposiums and conferences: Each department conducts national level symposiums and conferences. Eminent experts from the industry and academia are invited to interact with our students to share their experiences and expertise.
R & D Cell: The R& D Cell of RPSIT is functioning with the objective of undertaking research activities and development projects offered by agencies such as ISRO, DRDO, CSIR, DST, AICTE, and UGC etc. It also assists the students for conducting research under student project scheme from various funding agencies like TNSCST, IEI, and DRDO. Students are encouraged to do projects in emerging areas.
Many of our students did their research projects funded by Tamil Nadu State Council for Science & Technology and also got selected for first level of competition in AICTE CHATRA Viswakarma Awards 2020 and also received student project awards from Institute for Exploring Advances in Engineering.
